Do you want to make a difference in the Latine/x creative community? Join a La Sala Committee! We are ready to GROW in 2023 and we can’t wait to include your voice and efforts.

Those joining a La Sala Committee should plan to meet between 6-12 times/year, depending on projects and needs of the Committee. La Sala Committees operate semi-independently and will plan their own projects, schedules and budgets, with oversight from the La Sala Executive Board.

La Sala’s Committees are open to ALL who are passionate about supporting the visibility and needs of the Latine/x creative community in the Puget Sound region and throughout Washington state. Meetings are primarily virtual, while events can be held throughout the region depending on Committee desires and capabilities.

Additionally, each Committee will vote for one member to serve as Committee Chair. The Committee Chairs are part of the Executive Board of La Sala and will meet an additional 3-4 times/year to strategize and plan the overall operations of the organization.

Please read below for a description of our current Committees to match your skills and passion. Application below!

Artistic Programming and Events

This Committee strategizes and creates La Sala’s yearly artistic programming, with a goal of 3-4 events or programs per year. These programs support regional creatives with paid opportunities, build partnerships with local organizations, and create community solidarity.

La Sala’s programming is intentionally interdisciplinary and celebrates the diversity of the Latine/x community in our region. Our events pop-up at locations around the region and develop pathways for Latine/x involvement at major institutions, including Seattle Public Library, Seattle University, University of WA, the Henry Art Gallery, Seattle Art Fair and more.

Suggested time commitment: 5-10 hours/month, varies based on events.

Other Committee projects may include: Identifying areas in the creative landscape where Latine/x representation needs to be supported, encouraging participation in local arts panels/awards/opportunities, and other projects identified by the committee that increase our communities visibility in the arts and cultural field.
